On the second Saturday of September, we offer a free reuse/recycling event that allows Will County residents the opportunity to dispose of household hazardous waste, electronics, Styrofoam, and scrap metal and more.

ShareFest 2017 Schedule of Events 

May Clean-Up Day and Monthly Latex Paint Collection
Starting Saturday *May 6th (9am-1pm) every and every 4th Saturday of the month from May- September (8am-Noon), 

ShareFest in cooperation with Will County Land Use and the New Lenox Township will collect and mix useable latex paint for service projects in the area. Volunteers meet at the New Lenox Township Recycling Yard located at 1100 S. Spencer Rd. New Lenox. Wear proper clothing and come help us mix up a rainbow of colors.  Call Gary at 815-342-2199 for more details. The May 6th event starts at 8am.

May 13th
Fairmont Community Garden Project
Volunteers are to meet at the Fairmont Community Center 525 Barry Ave. in Lockport from 9:30 am to 12:00pm to help the Lockport Township Park District's Silver and Gold Club members set plants into twelve plots in their community garden. 
Please bring your own garden planting tools. This program is being put together by Will County Green and Lockport Township Park District’s Silver and Gold Senior Community.  A dozen of volunteers are needed.

May 21st
Forest Park Community Garden ProjectVolunteers are to meet at the Forest Park Community Center 1017 Woodruff Rd. Joliet from 7:30 am to 12:00pm.
We will be constructing raised beds and filling them with soil. Six volunteers are needed.

ShareFest 2017 "Love Thy Neighbor" Road Trip
From April- October, ShareFest will be taking food, books, clothes, health care screenings, and even some employers on a road trip called "Love Thy Neighbor" Road Trip.
Other trips include: June 3rd Joliet, July 8th Fairmont, Aug 9th Romeoville, Sept 16th Forest Park, Joliet. 40 volunteers and more per evet needed.

June 21st at Clarion Hotel & Convention Center Joliet 9am-Noon. Six Volunteers needed to help for setup and for the registration table.

June 25th Store Food Drive
Collections at Jewel on Laraway Rd. June 25th
Collect items at Jewel on Laraway Rd New Lenox for our Troops, schools, and pantries. 18 Volunteer slots available.
Six volunteers needed for each 2 1/2-hour shift. Collections start at 9am and runs until 4pm.

These cleanup/fixup projects held throughout the year are for those who need a helping hand. We have completed hundreds of service projects over the last 10 years. Service projects are scheduled at various time/dates.

Solution To Pollution Events   
Various dates and locations to help with the “Solution to Pollution” events coordinated by Virgil Kemp from Helpers of Mother Earth (H.O.M.E.)
Bags are provided for these clean-up projects which last begin at 10:00am and go until Noon. A one-half hour photo session will follow including a “Find of The Day” Award. Please wear proper clothing.
Bring your own snacks, water, and gloves.

This event is held at the New Lenox Village Commons Fireman’s Memorial at 9/11am. Please bring items to be donated to our Troops to the Ceremony (see website for list of items)
